…. bringing holiday magic to LGBTQIA+ teens
As part of our #ProtectTransKids projects from 2022, PLC is working with the community to end the year with a little holiday magic. We are collecting gift cards to distribute to LGBTQIA+ teens ages 12-21 in partnership with local queer and trans led organizations. Our hope is to reach 200 youth in partnership with groups like Pittsburgh Public Schools GSAs, Project Silk, Proud Haven, PFLAG Families Like Ours, and more.
This has been a very challenging year for our youth who have often been targeted by extremist policies and disinformation campaigns – they deserve to end the year on a loving and supportive note, not as political footballs. This is not about financial need. This is about being the adults in their lives who understand the toll this rhetoric takes and doing something proactive to resist, regardless of their other privileges.
You can donate a gift card in any amount and we will make sure it gets to them before the end of the year.
We work with registered community partners to provide gift cards for their youth.
